SMEs URGED TO UTILISE MACHINERY AND FACILITIES IN SIRIM RASA 


HULU SELANGOR, March 28 2016 – SIRIM, a leading organisation for industrial research and technology innovation in Malaysia is inviting local industries from various sectors to utilise the facilities available at its technology centre here.

Chairman of SIRIM, Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali said SIRIM Rasa was set up to plan and implement programmes and activities that would promote the development of the local machinery and equipment, and related engineering support industries in line with the aspirations of the government and requirements of the manufacturing sectors.

“In assisting the industries, SIRIM has set up many programmes and projects throughout the years with activities geared towards realising the government’s goals on SMEs productivity, he said.

Speaking at the SIRIM Rasa Industry Networking here recently, Ahmad Tajuddin said the Malaysian government continues its special focus on SMEs by providing them the required assistance to enhance access to financing, capacity building and strengthening infrastructure.

“Most recently, in the 2016 Budget presentation, several incentives to further stimulate SMEs productivity were announced involving SIRIM,” he added.

The industry networking programme was organised, among other things, to provide an opportunity for industries representatives to witness machines and facilities available at SIRIM Rasa, as well as to assess potentials of their utilisation for training and industrial production purposes.

Also present were SIRIM Board of Director Dato' Dr. Ir. Andy Seo, Vice President of SIRIM Industrial Research, Ir. Dr. Mohamad Jamil Sulaiman and National Council Member of The Associated Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (ACCCIM), Tan Sri Dato' Soong Siew Hoong.

A total of 12 industry associations attended the networking session among them: the Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM), The Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Foundry & Engineering Industries Association (SFEIA) and Perak Foundry Association.

SIRIM Rasa started its operation in 2005 in line with the Second Industrial Master Plan’s recommendations to develop and enhance local M&E industries capabilities in critical technologies.

It was set up to plan and implement programs and activities that would promote the development of the local machinery and equipment, and related engineering support industries in line with the aspirations of the government and requirements of the manufacturing sectors. 

It has the role of providing R&D, design, prototyping, consultancy, advisory, technical support, technology transfer and dissemination services to the machinery and equipment industries, and also to the related engineering support industries.

PKS DIPELAWA BAGI MEMANFAATKAN MESIN DAN KEMUDAHAN DI SIRIM RASA



HULU SELANGOR, 28 Mac 2016 – SIRIM, organisasi peneraju penyelidikan perindustrian dan teknologi yang utama di negara ini mempelawa industri tempatan dari pelbagai sektor, memanfaatkan teknologi dan kemudahan yang ditawarkan di pusat teknologinya di sini.

Pengerusi SIRIM, Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali berkata, SIRIM Rasa telah diwujudkan bagi merancang dan melaksanakan program dan aktiviti bagi membangunkan industri pemesinan, peralatan dan sokongan kejuruteraan, selaras dengan aspirasi kerajaan dan keperluan sektor pembuatan tempatan.

“Dalam membantu industri di Malaysia, SIRIM telah menyediakan pelbagai program dan projek sepanjang tahun melalui aktiviti-aktiviti bersesuaian bagi merealisasikan hasrat kerajaan meningkatkan produktiviti perusahaan kecil dan sederhana (PKS),” katanya.

Dalam ucapan sempena program Jaringan Industri SIRIM Rasa di sini, baru-baru ini, Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin berkata, Kerajaan Malaysia telah memberi tumpuan menyeluruh kepada pembangunan PKS dengan membantu dari segi akses kewangan, pembangunan kapasiti dan pengukuhan infrastruktur.

“Menerusi pembentangan bajet 2016 baru-baru ini, terdapat beberapa insentif bagi merangsang produktiviti PKS yang melibatkan SIRIM telah diumumkan,” katanya.

Program jaringan industri itu dianjurkan antaranya bagi memberi peluang kepada wakil industri untuk menyaksikan sendiri mesin dan kemudahan yang boleh dimanfaatkan di SIRIM Rasa, serta menilai potensi penggunaannya bagi tujuan latihan dan pengeluaran industri.

Turut hadir adalah Ahli Lembaga Pengarah SIRIM Dato’ Dr. Ir. Andy Seo, Naib Presiden Penyelidikan Industri SIRIM Ir. Dr. Mohamad Jamil Sulaiman dan Ahli Majlis Kebangsaan bagi Dewan Dagangan dan Industri Cina (ACCCIM), Tan Sri Soong Siew Hoong.

Sebanyak 12 persatuan industri menghadiri sesi jaringan itu antaranya Persatuan Pengilang Malaysia, Persatuan Industri Faundri dan Kejuruteraan Selangor & Kuala Lumpur, dan Persatuan Faundri Perak.

SIRIM Rasa memulakan operasinya pada 2005 sejajar dengan saranan Pelan Induk Perindustrian Ke-2 untuk membangun dan meningkatkan keupayaan industri pembuatan dan kejuruteraan tempatan dalam bidang teknologi kritikal.

Ia dibangunkan untuk merancang dan melaksakan program dan aktiviti yang akan menggalakkan pembangunan pemesinan dan peralatan tempatan, serta industri sokongan kejuruteraan yang berkaitan selaras dengan hasrat kerajaan dan keperluan sektor pembuatan.

SIRIM Rasa berperanan untuk menyediakan khidmat termasuklah penyelidikan dan pembangunan, reka bentuk, pembuatan prototaip, perundingan dan nasihat, sokongan teknikal dan pemindahan teknologi kepada industri pemesinan dan peralatan, serta industri sokongan kejuruteraan yang berkaitan.
