BAHAN RUJUKAN MALAYSIA STANDARD EMAS (MyRM Gold) DAN SKIM PENSIJILAN CAP KEMPA EMAS DILANCARKAN PADA HARI TERBUKA SIRIM 2017
 
SHAH ALAM, 19 Dis 2017: Bahan Rujukan Malaysia Standard Emas (MyRM Gold) yang bertujuan memastikan semua alat pengukur ketulenan emas adalah berdasarkan Unit Sistem Antarabangsa dilancarkan hari ini oleh Institut Metrologi Kebangsaan Malaysia, SIRIM (NMIM) bertujuan menggalakkan perdagangan adil dan saksama dalam urusan perniagaan emas di Malaysia.

Pada masa yang sama juga, Skim Pensijilan Cap Kempa Emas yang berpandukan standard antarabangsa ISO/IEC 17067 iaitu skim yang menawarkan pensijilan terhadap ketulenan barangan kemas dan jongkong emas yang dijual di pasaran turut dilancarkan oleh SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, anak syarikat SIRIM Berhad bersempena dengan Hari Terbuka SIRIM 2017 di sini.

Pelancaran kedua-dua perkhidmatan terbaru ini dilakukan oleh Timbalan Menteri Sains, Teknologi & Inovasi Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar Mohd Diah yang mewakili Menteri berkenaan, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau.

Menteri Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau di dalam teks ucapan yang dibacakan Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar berkata, ia amat penting bagi semua alat pengukuran ketulenan emas di Malaysia mempunyai kebolehkesanan (traceability) melalui kaedah tentukuran kepada satu rujukan sahaja iaitu kepada MyRM Gold.

Hadir sama pada pelancaran berkenaan, Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Kumpulan SIRIM, Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani, Pengarah Kanan NMIM, Dr Osman Zakaria dan Pengarah Urusan SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd Mohd Azanuddin Salleh.

Sementara itu, Skim Pensijilan Cap Kempa Emas oleh SIRIM QAS International pula hanya akan dianugerahkan kepada pemohon apabila terdapat bukti yang menunjukkan kelompok produk yang diuji adalah tulen dan proses cap kempa yang dilalui mematuhi keperluan Skim dan Standard Malaysia MS 1247:2005 – Code of Practice on the Description and Marking of Articles of, or Containing Precious Metal.

Hari Terbuka SIRIM bertemakan “Merakyatkan Kualiti” diadakan bagi mempamerkan teknologi, produk dan perkhidmatan yang disediakan oleh SIRIM, selain memperkenalkan lagi peranan SIRIM sebagai sebuah agensi penyelidikan dan teknologi utama negara kepada industri, agensi kerajaan dan swasta, institusi pendidikan tinggi, sekolah dan juga orang awam.

Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Kumpulan SIRIM, Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani berkata, program sehari ini memberi peluang kepada SIRIM untuk memberikan kesedaran kepada orang awam terhadap peranan yang dimainkan oleh SIRIM dalam menjamin keselamatan dan kualiti hidup mereka melalui produk, perkhidmatan dan teknologi berinovasi daripada SIRIM.

Pelbagai aktiviti interaktif diadakan pada Hari Terbuka SIRIM, antaranya lawatan ke makmal penyelidikan dan pengujian SIRIM, ceramah ‘Q-Talk’ yang membincangkan topik seperti keselamatan dalam kecantikan, pengurusan emosi dan berat badan, percetakan 3D, Industri 4.0, teknologi hijau dan lain-lain, selain demonstrasi solekan, pertandingan mewarna untuk kanak-kanak, food truck park dan buskers corner serta jualan produk istimewa.

MALAYSIA REFERENCE MATERIAL GOLD STANDARD  (MyRM Gold)  AND GOLD HALLMARKING CERTIFICATION SCHEME LAUNCHED LAUNCHED ON SIRIM OPEN DAY 2017
 
SHAH ALAM, 19 Dec 2017: Malaysia Reference Material Gold Standard (MyRM Gold) which aims to ensure that all gold purity measurement tools are based on the International System Unit to promote fair and equitable trade in the business of gold in Malaysia was launched today by the National Metrology Institute of Malaysia, SIRIM (NMIM).
 
Also launched was the Gold Hallmarking Certification Scheme based on international standard ISO/IEC 17067 that offers certificate for the purity of jewelry and gold bars sold in the market, by SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SIRIM in conjunction with SIRIM Open Day 2017.
 
The launching of the two services was officiated by Deputy Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation, Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar Mohd Diah who represented the Minister, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau.
 
Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Madius Tangau in his speech read by Datuk Wira Dr Abu Bakar said it is important for all gold purity measurement tools in Malaysia to have traceability through a calibration by referring to MyRM Gold as the sole reference.
 
Also present during the launching ceremony was President and Group Chief Executive of SIRIM, Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani, Senior Director of NMIM, Dr Osman Zakaria and Managing Director of SIRIM QAS International Sdn Bhd, Mohd Azanuddin Salleh.
 
Meanwhile, the Gold Hallmarking Certification Scheme by SIRIM QAS International will only be awarded to the applicant when there is proof showing that the product tested is pure and the hallmarking process complies with the requirements of the Scheme and Malaysia Standard MS 1247: 2005 - Code of Practice on the Description and Marking of Articles of, or Containing Precious Metal.
 
SIRIM Open Day themed "Merakyatkan Kualiti" was held to showcase technology, products and services provided by SIRIM, in addition to introducing the role of SIRIM as the country’s premier research and technology agency to industries, government agencies, private institutions, higher learning institutions and the public.

President and Group Chief Executive of SIRIM, Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani said, the one-day program was an opportunity for the organisation to give awareness to the public on SIRIM’s role in ensuring the safety and improving the quality of their lives through products, services and innovative technology from SIRIM.
 
Various interactive activities were held during SIRIM Open Day, which include visits to SIRIM's research and testing laboratories, ‘Q-talk’ on topics of interest such as beauty and safe cosmetics, managing stress and ideal weight; to technology-related topics such as 3D printing technology, Industry 4.0 and green technology, make-up demonstrations, colouring and drawing contests for kids, food truck park, buskers corner and special product sales for visitors.
