SIRIM QAS INTERNATIONAL, MALAYSIA BUKA PEJABAT CAWANGAN DI BAHRAIN

SHAH ALAM, 31 MAC - SIRIM QAS International sebuah badan peneraju utama di Malaysia yang menawarkan perkhidmatan pensijilan, pemeriksaan dan pengujian telah membuka pejabat cawangan baharu mereka di Manama, Bahrain.

Sebagai permulaan, SIRIM QAS International akan menawarkan pensijilan IECEx bagi  kecekapan anggota kerja di persekitaran letupan, pensijilan kemudahan perkhidmatan IECEx yang diperakui, pensijilan produk dan perkhidmatan pensijilan sistem pengurusan di Bahrain.

Majlis perasmian pejabat baharu itu disempurnakan oleh Pengerusi SIRIM, Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali di Manama, pada Khamis. Hadir sama pada majlis itu, Setiausaha Bahagian bagi Kementerian Kerja Raya, Majlis Perbandaran dan Perancangan Bandar Bahrain, Ahmed A. Aziz A Kayat; Timbalan Setiausaha Bahagian bagi Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Kementerian Industri, Perdagangan dan Pelancongan Bahrain; dan Pengarah Urusan SIRIM QAS International, Mohd Azanuddin Salleh.

Di dalam ucapan perasmiannya, Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin berkata, SIRIM QAS International memilih Bahrain bagi penubuhan pejabat cawangan baharu ini kerana negara berkenaan memiliki lokasi yang strategik, peluang pelaburan yang menarik dan reputasinya sebagai pusat perniagaan dan perkhidmatan yang moden di rantau ini.

“SIRIM QAS International bercadang untuk memanfatkan prospek pertumbuhan Bahrain yang kukuh selain menjadikan negara ini sebagai laluan antarabangsa bagi mengembangkan sayapnya di rantau Timur Tengah yang semakin berkembang pesat.

“SIRIM QAS International turut merancang untuk menjadi Badan yang Memperakui (Notified Body) bagi Majlis Kerjasama Teluk (GCC) bagi membantu syarikat pengeluar Malaysia dan negara jiran mendapatkan cop Tanda Teluk (Gulf Marking) untuk menembusi pasaran GCC yang bertujuan memudahkan perdagangan antara kedua-dua negara,” katanya.

Tan Sri Ir. Dr. Ahmad Tajuddin turut mengumumkan bahawa SIRIM QAS International dan Kementerian Industri, Perdagangan dan Pelancongan Bahrain sedang merancang untuk bekerjasama dalam bidang penilaian pematuhan yang antaranya meliputi:
  1. Pensijilan produk, pemeriksaan dan pengujian
  2. Pensijilan sistem pengurusan
  3. Pensijilan IECEx; dan
  4. Pengukuran dan tentukuran
Cadangan kerjasama ini bertujuan memudahkan perdagangan antara kedua-dua negara dan menyokong rangka kerjasama penilaian pematuhan di Bahrain. Kedua-dua pihak dijangka menandatangani memorandum kerjasama tidak lama lagi.

SIRIM QAS INTERNATIONAL, MALAYSIA OPENS BRANCH OFFICE IN BAHRAIN

SHAH ALAM, 31 MARCH - SIRIM QAS International, Malaysia’s premier certification and testing body, has opened its maiden branch office in the Middle East region in Manama, Bahrain.

For a start, SIRIM QAS International will be offering the IECEx certification of personnel competence for explosive atmospheres, IECEx certified service facilities certification, product certification and management system certification services in Bahrain.

The launch of the branch office was graced by SIRIM Chairman, Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali, in Manama, Bahrain, on Thursday. Also present were Mr. Ahmed A Aziz A Kayat, Under Secretary for Ministry of Works, Municipalities and Urban Planning, Bahrain, Mr Hameed Yousif Rahma, Assistant Under Secretary for Domestic Trade, Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism of Bahrain and Managing Director of SIRIM QAS International, Mohd Azanuddin Salleh.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin said SIRIM QAS International chose Bahrain to set up its branch office because of the country’s strategic location, attractive investment incentive and its reputation as a modern industrial, business and service centre in the region. 

“SIRIM QAS International plans to leverage on the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strong growth prospects and to use the country as a gateway to expand its presence in the fast growing Middle East region,” he said.

SIRIM QAS International is also planning to be a Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Notified Body to help Malaysian manufacturers and those in the neighbouring countries obtain Gulf Marking to penetrate the GCC market and thus, facilitating trade between both countries, he further added.

Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin also announced that SIRIM QAS International and the Ministry of Industry, Commerce and Tourism, Bahrain are planning to collaborate in the areas of conformity assessment which includes:
  1. a) product certification, inspection and testing
  2. b) management system certification
  3. c) IECEx certification; and
  4. d) measurement and calibration
The proposed collaboration aims to facilitate trade between both countries and to support the conformity assessment framework in Bahrain.  Both parties expect to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on this collaboration soon.
