‘Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme’ bagi produk Malaysia tembusi pasaran negara Teluk turut dilancar

PUTRAJAYA, 15 NOVEMBER 2018: Majlis SIRIM Industri 2018 yang berlangsung di sini hari ini meraikan tiga organisasi yang menerima anugerah berprestij iaitu Anugerah Kualiti SIRIM 2018 serta menyaksikan pelancaran Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme.
Anugerah Kualiti SIRIM adalah pengiktirafan kepada organisasi yang mencapai tahap pengurusan kualiti di dalam pelbagai sektor yang menepati tahap standard kebangsaan dan antarabangsa.
Anugerah yang terbahagi kepada tiga kategori itu dimenangi oleh:
  • - Katergori Perusahaan Kecil dan Sederhana (PKS): Oversea Lighting & Electric (M) Sdn Bhd
  • - Kategori Kerajaan: Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka
  • - Kategori Syarikat Multinasional atau Syarikat berkaitan Kerajaan: Sime Darby Plantation Berhad
Anugerah Kualiti SIRIM 2018 disampaikan oleh Timbalan Menteri Perdagangan Antarabangsa dan Industri (MITI), Dr. Ong Kian Ming yang mewakili Menteri. Turut hadir pada majlis itu adalah Pengerusi SIRIM, Tan Sri Dr. Ir. Ahmad Tajuddin Ali, serta Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Kumpulan SIRIM, Prof Ir Dr Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani.
 
Dr Ong di dalam ucapannya berkata, melalui Dasar Industri 4.0 Nasional (Industry4wrd) yang dilancarkan baru-baru ini dan Bajet 2019 di mana peruntukan khas bagi peralihan ke Industri Revolusi 4.0 (IR4.0), serta pengenalan insentif kepada PKS untuk melabur di dalam automasi dan pemodenan, membuktikan MITI komited menjadikan Malaysia sebagai destinasi utama untuk industri berteknologi tinggi.
 
“Saya yakin bahawa SIRIM akan menjadi agensi utama yang akan memacu industri ke arah sasaran Industry4wrd melalui pebagai pelaksanaan program seperti SIRIM-Fraunhofer, iaitu program yang akan membantu PKS tempatan untuk menggunakan proses dan pengurusan teknologi untuk meningkatkan produktiviti dan daya saing,” katanya.
 
Sementara itu, Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme yang ditawarkan oleh anak syarikat milik penuh SIRIM iaitu SIRIM QAS International akan membantu pengilang mendapatkan GCC Standard Organization (G Mark). SIRIM QAS International diiktiraf oleh GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) sebagai Badan Notifikasi
dan berkuasa untuk menyediakan perkhidmatan pensijilan produk di bawah sistem tanda pematuhan Teluk bagi peralatan elektrik bervoltan rendah.

Pengilang yang berhasrat untuk megeksport barangan elektrik ke negara Majlis Kerjasama Teluk (GCC) seperti Emiriah Arab Bersatu, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yaman dan Arab Saudi dikehendaki untuk mendapatkan G Mark bagi memastikan produk mematuhi piawaian dan peraturan yang ditetapkan oleh GSO.

Produk elektrik yang membawa G Mark menunjukkan produk berkenaan telah dinilai oleh Badan Notifikasi seperti SIRIM QAS International mematuhi keperluan keselamatan dan keperluan Electromagnetic Compatibility yang ditetapkan oleh Peraturan Teknikal Teluk bagi Peralatan Elektrikal Bervoltan Rendah.

Pengerusi SIRIM, Tan Sri Dr Ir Ahmad Tajuddin berkata, Anugerah Kualiti SIRIM 2018 adalah pengiktirafan kepada organisasi yang mencapai tahap pengurusan kualiti yang cemerlang dalam pelbagai sektor.

“Terdapat tiga kategori bagi anugerah ini iaitu kategori PKS; kategori Kerajaan dan kategori Syarikat Multinasional/Syarikat berkaitan Kerajaan (GLC). Pemenang dipilih berdasarkan amalan berkualiti tinggi dalam organisasi melalui produk atau perkhidmatan yang memberi kesan kepada pelbagai sektor," katanya.

Pada majlis yang sama, SIRIM Berhad dan Persatuan Pengeluar Malaysia (FMM) membuat pertukaran dokumen Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) bagi perkongsian kepakaran dan kerjasama di dalam bidang yang melibatkan aktiviti Industri 4.0: Pengilangan Pintar dan Pembangunan Standard Perindustrian.

Majlis SIRIM Industri meraikan pelbagai industri dan agensi kerajaan yang telah menerima pensijilan dari SIRIM QAS International bagi tempoh November 2017 hingga Oktober 2018.

Sepanjang tempoh tersebut, lebih daripada 300 organisasi telah mendapat pensijilan di bawah Skim Pensijilan Sistem Pengurusan SIRIM QAS International dan lebih 650 produk telah mendapat pensijilan di bawah Skim Pensijilan Barangan.

Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme for Malaysian products to penetrate Gulf market also launched

 

PUTRAJAYA, 15 NOVEMBER 2018: The Majlis SIRIM Industri 2018 held here today honoured three outstanding organisations with the prestigious SIRIM Quality Award 2018, as well as saw the launching of a certification scheme, the Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme.

The SIRIM Quality Award is a recognition to organisations that achieve quality management in various sectors that meet national and international standards.

 The awards were won by:

  • - Small & Medium Enterprises (SME) Category: Oversea Lighting & Electric (M) Sdn Bhd
  • - Government Category: Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka
  • - Multinational and Government Linked Company (GLC) Category: Sime Darby Plantation Berhad

The SIRIM Quality Award 2018 was presented by Deputy Minister of International Trade and Industry (MITI), Dr. Ong Kian Ming who represented the Minister. Among those present were Chairman of SIRIM, Academician Tan Sri Dr. Ir Ahmad Tajuddin Ali and President & Group Chief Executive of SIRIM, Prof Ir. Dr Ahmad Fadzil Mohamad Hani.

Dr Ong in his opening speech said, the recent launch of National Policy on IR4.0, and also Budget 2019 where special allocations for transition and migration to IR4.0, as well as introduction of incentives for SMEs to invest in automation and modernisation, showed that MITI is committed in making Malaysia the prime destination for high-tech industries.

“I am confident that SIRIM will be one of the leading agency that will drive the industry towards these Industry4WRD goals through programmes such as the SIRIM-Fraunhofer, a programme to assist local SMEs embrace technology processes and technological management to increase productivity and competitiveness,” he said.

The new Gulf Conformity Marking Scheme offered by SIRIM’s wholly-owned subsidiary, SIRIM QAS International will assist manufacturers to obtain GCC Standard Organisation’s (G Mark). SIRIM QAS International is recognised by the GCC Standardization Organization (GSO) as a Notified Body and is authorised to provide product certification service under the Gulf conformity marking system for low-voltage electrical equipment and appliances. 

Manufacturers that intend to export electrical products to Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries such as United Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, Yemen and Saudi Arabia are required to obtain the G Mark to ensure that the products adhere to the standards and ruling as determined by GSO.

An electrical product bearing G Mark indicates that it has been evaluated by a Notified Body such as SIRIM QAS International to comply with the essential safety requirements and Electromagnetic Compatibility requirement stipulated in the Gulf Technical Regulation for Low Voltage Electrical Equipment and Appliances.

SIRIM Chairman, Tan Sri Dr Ir Ahmad Tajuddin said the SIRIM Quality Awards 2018 is aimed to give formal recognition to SIRIM’s clients who had achieved high level of excellence in product quality and management systems in various sectors.

"There are three categories of winners namely SME, Multinational Company/Government linked Company and Government. The winners were chosen for demonstrating outstanding quality practice within the organisation, with products or services impacting many sectors,” he said.

During the same event, SIRIM Berhad and Federation of Malaysian Manufacturers (FMM) exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to share expertise and cooperation in the areas relating to the activities of Industry 4.0: Smart Manufacturing and Industrial Standards Development.

Majlis SIRIM Industri is an annual event to strengthen the relationship and collaboration between SIRIM, the industry and government agencies, as well as to acknowledge organisations and companies that received certifications from SIRIM QAS International from November 2017 to October 2018.

During this period, more than 300 organisations were certified by SIRIM QAS International under its Management System Certification schemes and more than 600 products were certified under the Product Certification Scheme in the same period.

This year’s Majlis SIRIM Industri was organised in conjunction with World Quality Day celebration which is celebrated annually on the second Thursday in November. Several programmes were lined-up which include the Q-Best seminar, open labs at SIRIM headquarters in Shah Alam and a forum on integrity-related topics.
