National Standards Development

SIRIM Berhad handles the following tasks on national standards development:

Managing the development of Malaysian Standards;
Managing the Industry Standards Committee (ISC) structure, composition and monitoring its operation;
Appointing and monitoring SWO; and
Appointing and monitoring internal and external subcontractors for standards development.

SIRIM Berhad had also signed an agreement with ASTM International (previously known as American Soceity for Testing Materials), which permits adoption of ASTM standards as Malaysian Standards.
