Refractories

MS 327 : Part 1 : 1997
Specification for refractory bricks : Part 1 : Standard specification (First revision).
This revised Malaysian Standard describes the requirements for refractory bricks of the following types i.e fire clay bricks, high alumina bricks, anti-acid bricks, insulating bricks, zircon bricks, runner bricks ladle, sleeve and stopper. It also specifies samples defining size and shape and marking. In this revised standard, a new category of acid resistance bricks designated as MS R2 is specified. This part of standard supersedes MS 327 : 1977.
Price Code : B

MS 327 : Part 2: 1997
Specification for refractory bricks : Part 2 : Sampling (First revision).
This revised Malaysian Standard specifies the method of sampling for refractory bricks. This standard applies to the selection of the gross sample for the physical and chemical testing of bricks. A detailed explanation of the theory of sampling refractories are also included. This part of the standard supersedes MS 327 : 1977.
Price Code : B

MS 327 : Part 3: 1997
Specification for refractory bricks : Part 3 : Physical tests (First revision)
This revised Malaysian Standard specifies methods for the physical tests of refractory bricks i.e. determination of cold crushing strength, bulk density, porosity and apparent specific gravity, water absorption, resistance to acid and warpage. This part of standard supersedes MS 327 : 1997.
Price Code : B

MS 327 : Part 4: 1997
Specification for refractory bricks : Part 4 : Chemical analysis (First revision).
This revised Malaysian Standard describes methods for the chemical analysis of refractories containing predominantly silica (Si02 ) and/or Alumina (Al2O3). This part of standard supersedes MS 327 : 1977.
Price Code : C

MS 374 : 1976
Method of test for refractoriness (Pyrometric cone equivalent).
Applies to fireclay, fireclay bricks, and silica fire clays (silica cement). Value obtained by comparison of test cone with Standard Pyrometric cones under the conditions prescribed.
Price Code : B

MS 395 : 1976
Method of test for refractoriness under load.
Covers procedure for determining resistance to deformation or shear of refractory brick which is subjected to a specified compressive heat at a specified temperature for a specified time.
Price Code : A

MS 396 : 1976
Method of test for particle size of refractory materials (Sieve analysis).
Specifies a method to determine particle size distribution of granular materials, which is a major factor that affects packing density.
Price Code : A

MS 397 : 1976
Method of test for the determination of modulus of rupture of refractory materials.

Price Code : A

MS 1498 : 2000
