Methods of test for paints and varnishes: Part F10: Determination of resistance to cathodic disbonding of coatings for use in marine environments.
This Malaysian Standard describes a method of test for determining the resistance to cathodic disbonding of a single coating or multi-coat system of paint, varnish or other organic coating applied to metallic substrates when the surface coating covering the metal substrate may contain or develop discontinuities. It is applicable to coatings that are subjected to marine environments, such as those on ships or partially exposed marine structures. NOTES: For coatings that are used to protect land-based metallic structures, the conditions of the test differ from those for coatings to be used in marine applications. MS 133: Part F11 describes a method suitable for assessing coatings applied to buried structures. The test result may be influenced not only by the properties of the coating system under test, but also by the nature and preparation of the substrate, the method of application of the coating system and other factors.

MS 133 : Part F16 : 2003
Methods of test for paints and varnishes: Part F16: Exposure of coatings to artificial weathering-exposure to fluorescent UV and water.
This Malaysian Standard is one of a series of standards dealing with the sampling and testing of paints, varnishes and related products. It specifies a test method for determining the resistance of paint coatings to artificial weathering in apparatus including fluorescent UV lamps and condensation or water spray. NOTE. The ultraviolet light produced by the fluorescent tubes simulates only part of the UV region of the natural sunlight and consequently the test pieces are subjected to a small but destructive portion of the spectrum. Due to the lack of energy of visible and infra-red radiation compared to sunlight the test piece is not heated above the temperature of the surrounding air which takes place in practical use.

MS 133 : Part F17 : 2003
Methods of test for paints and varnishes: Part F17: Determination of wet-scrub resistance and cleanability of coatings.
The ability of coatings to withstand wear caused by repeated cleaning operations and to resist permanent blemishing by stains is an important consideration both from a practical point of view and when comparing and rating such coatings. This Malaysian Standard specifies an accelerated method for the determination of wet-scrub resistance. With regard to the cleanability of coatings, only the method itself and not the soiling agents are specified. NOTE. Since these properties depend not only on the quality of a coating but also on the substrate, the method of application, the drying conditions and other factors, the results obtained are not directly transferable to actual practice. In this standard the evaluation of the coating is based on a defined substrate, a fixed application method, specified drying conditions and a defined method of wet scrubbing.
