SIRIM TO DEVELOP MALAYSIA RAILWAYS INDUSTRIAL STANDARD BY MAY 2022

              

SHAH ALAM, 6 Dec 2021: SIRIM STS Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary company of SIRIM Berhad has been appointed as coordinator for the development of Malaysia Railways Industrial Standard.

The initiative to develop the Malaysia Railways Industrial Standard (MRIS) is part of the national initiatives to advance and promote competitiveness of the country’s rail industry.

 

The appointment of SIRIM STS as the secretariat for the rail industry standards was recently made by TDA Berhad, an agency under the Minister of Finance Incorporated, established as custodian to operationalise the Malaysian Industrial Collaboration Programme (ICP) Management Framework.

 

SIRIM Berhad President & Group Chief Executive Dato’ Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad said SIRIM STS is tasked to develop a series of Industry Standards on trackwork components namely concrete sleepers, ballast, rail pads, base plates, clips, fasteners, welding – alumino; and welding – flash butt.

 

"The development of these Malaysia Rail Industrial Standards is scheduled to be completed by 31 May 2022. It is expected to bring significant benefits to Malaysia’s Rail Industry," he said.

 

The development of the industry standard will involve collaboration and participation from industrial partners, China Communication Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd – George Kent (M) Berhad (CGJV (M)), which is also the work package contractor, also known as ICP Provider for MRT Putrajaya Line project (Package SSP-SY-204).

 

A Workshop on MRIS Development with the participation from all stakeholders will be organised on 17 December 2021 in Shah Alam to kick off the project.

SIRIM BANGUNKAN STANDARD INDUSTRI REL MALAYSIA MENJELANG MEI 2022

                 

SHAH ALAM, 6 Dec:  SIRIM STS Sdn Bhd, anak syarikat SIRIM Berhad telah dilantik sebagai penyelaras bagi pembangunan Standard Industri Rel Malaysia.

Inisiatif untuk membangunkan Standard Industri Rel Malaysia (MRIS) adalah sebahagian daripada inisiatif negara untuk memajukan dan menggalakkan daya saing industri rel negara.

 

Pelantikan SIRIM STS sebagai sekretariat bagi standard industri rel baru-baru ini dibuat oleh TDA Berhad, sebuah agensi di bawah Menteri Kewangan Diperbadankan, yang ditubuhkan sebagai kustodian untuk mengoperasikan Rangka Kerja Pengurusan Program Kerjasama Industri Malaysia (ICP).

 

Presiden & Ketua Eksekutif Kumpulan SIRIM Berhad, Dato' Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad berkata SIRIM STS ditugaskan untuk membangunkan satu siri Standard Industri bagi komponen landasan kereta api iaitu ranjang landas konkrit, balast, pad rel, plat tapak, klip, pengikat, kimpalan – alumino dan kimpalan temu kilat.

 

"Pembangunan Standard Industri Rel Malaysia ini dijadualkan siap pada 31 Mei 2022. Ia dijangka memberi manfaat yang besar kepada Industri Rel Malaysia," katanya.

 

Pembangunan standard industri ini akan melibatkan kerjasama dan penyertaan daripada rakan industri, China Communication Construction Company (M) Sdn Bhd – George Kent (M) Berhad (CGJV (M)), yang juga kontraktor pakej kerja, juga dikenali sebagai Pembekal ICP untuk projek MRT Laluan Putrajaya (Pakej SSP-SY-204).

 

Bengkel Pembangunan MRIS dengan penyertaan daripada semua pihak berkepentingan akan dianjurkan pada 17 Disember 2021 di Shah Alam untuk memulakan projek itu.
