SIRIM, CRADLE TO ASSIST LOCAL START-UPS IN TECHNOLOGY AND COMMERCIALISATION



SHAH ALAM, 13 SEPT: The start-up community will soon gain access to relevant technology, trainings and consultancy as well as quality-related services as SIRIM Berhad, a leading organisation in technology and quality solutions, and Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle), a leading early-stage technology-based start-ups influencer, establishes a strategic collaboration.

 

Under the collaboration, services offered to start-ups include technology assessment, technology valuation, techno-economic feasibility study, market study and business linkages.

 

In addition, the start-up community will be offered access to competency enhancement training and consultancy in the field of quality along with testing, inspection and certification for market compliance.

 

The strategic collaboration was formalised through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) virtual signing ceremony held today with SIRIM represented by President and Group Chief Executive, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad and Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle), by its Group Chief Executive Officer Rafiza Ghazali, and Cradle Seed Ventures Management Pte Ltd by its Acting Chief Executive Officer Dr Ng Sing Kwei. Also present was Ajmain Kasim, Chief Executive Officer of SIRIM Tech Venture Sdn Bhd (STV), a subsidiary of SIRIM which drives business commercialisation of promising innovations from a broad range of technology sector.

 

The MoU will also accelerate business commercialisation in technology adoption by start-up communities via Cradle Funding Ecosystem, capacity building which includes awareness programmes, coaching and mentoring; and market accessibility through collaborative platform such as STV’s TECH EcosystemTM.

 

President and Group Chief Executive of SIRIM, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad said that SIRIM is honoured that CRADLE, an agency under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), has decided to work closely with SIRIM in exploring available technology solutions to assist the industry in their next growth phase.

 

“Through CRADLE’s funding system, SIRIM hopes that many more CRADLE Community will grab the opportunity on new and future technology investment through various financing in order to achieve technology-led growth. SIRIM, an organisation well-known for its technology, and quality assurance programmes will facilitate and co-create appropriate technology solutions required,” he said.

 

Group Chief Executive Officer of Cradle, Rafiza Ghazali said the strategic partnership with SIRIM will create valuable and much-needed opportunities for local tech entrepreneurs to further enhance their technological development and commercialisation initiatives.

 

“For local innovators and entrepreneurs, this represents a very important collaboration. The combined resources, know-how and experience of CRADLE and SIRIM will bring tangible benefit to the start-up community through enhanced support and guidance, ultimately helping them to grow their businesses. We are very excited by the potential opportunities this joint initiative offers entrepreneurs, and we look forward to working with some of the most exciting and innovative start-ups in Malaysia through this collaboration. 

 

Rafiza also added, “This important strategic partnership will allow CRADLE and SIRIM to leverage on our respective strengths, and those of our existing initiatives, and offer start-ups a highly effective and beneficial programmes in accelerating their ventures. Though working with the best and brightest innovators and entrepreneurs, we aim for this initiative to become a significant development seen in Malaysia’s start-up community in recent years.”

SIRIM, CRADLE BANTU ‘START-UP’ DALAM TEKNOLOGI DAN PENGKOMERSIALAN



SHAH ALAM, 13 SEP: SIRIM Berhad, organisasi peneraju dalam teknologi dan penyelesaian kualiti dan Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle), pempengaruh syarikat permulaan berasaskan teknologi peringkat awal terkemuka menjalin kerjasama stategik yang membolehkan komuniti syarikat pemula (start up) menerima akses kepada teknologi, latihan dan perundingan yang relevan serta perkhidmatan berkaitan kualiti.

 

Melalui kerjasama ini, perkhidmatan yang ditawarkan kepada syarikat pemula meliputi, penilaian teknologi, kajian kebolehlaksanaan tekno-ekonomi, kajian pasaran dan rantaian perniagaan.

 

Selain itu, komuniti syarikat pemula turut ditawarkan akses latihan peningkatan kecekapan dan perundingan dalam bidang kualiti, pengujian, pemeriksaan dan pensijilan bagi pematuhan pasaran. 

 

Kerjasama strategik ini diterjemahkan melalui Majlis Memorandum Persefahaman (MoU) yang berlangsung secara maya hari ini. SIRIM Berhad diwakili oleh Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Kumpulan, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad;  Cradle Fund Sdn Bhd (Cradle),  diwakili oleh Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan, Rafiza Ghazali dan Cradle Seed Ventures Management Pte Ltd, diwakili oleh Pemangku Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif, Dr Ng Sing Kwei. Hadir sama, Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif, SIRIM Tech Venture Sdn Bhd (STV), Ajmain Kasim, anak syarikat milik penuh SIRIM yang memacu pengkomersialan perniagaan inovasi dari pelbagai sektor teknologi.

 

MoU tersebut akan meningkatkan pengkomersialan perniagaan dalam penerimagunaan teknologi oleh komuniti syarikat pemula melalui Cradle Funding Ecosystem, pembangunan kapasiti yang merangkumi program kesedaran, bimbingan dan kebolehcapaian pasaran melalui platform kerjasama seperti STV’s TECH EcosystemTM.

 

Presiden dan Ketua Eksekutif Kumpulan SIRIM, Dato’ Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad, berkata, SIRIM berbangga dengan CRADLE, agensi di bawah Kementerian Sains, Teknologi dan Inovasi (MOSTI), untuk bekerjasama dengan SIRIM dalam meneroka penyelesaian teknologi untuk membantu industri dalam fasa pertumbuhan mereka.

 

“Melalui CRADLE funding system, SIRIM berharap lebih banyak Komuniti CRADLE akan merebut peluang pelaburan teknologi baru dan masa depan melalui pelbagai pembiayaan bagi mencapai pertumbuhan yang diterajui teknologi. SIRIM, sebuah organisasi yang terkenal dengan pembuatan teknologi dan program jaminan kualiti akan membantu dan menyediakan penyelesaian teknologi yang diperlukan serta sesuai kepada komuniti itu,” katanya.

 

Ketua Pegawai Eksekutif Kumpulan Cradle, Rafiza Ghazali berkata, kerjasama strategik bersama SIRIM akan mewujudkan peluang yang diperlukan bagi usahawan teknologi tempatan untuk meningkatkan lagi inisiatif pengembangan teknologi dan pengkomersialan mereka.

 

“Bagi pengguna inovasi dan usahawan tempatan, ini merupakan kerjasama yang amat penting. Sumber gabungan, pengetahuan dan pengalaman CRADLE dan SIRIM akan membawa manfaat kepada komuniti syarikat pemula melalui sokongan dan bimbingan yang dipertingkatkan, seterusnya menolong mereka mengembangkan lagi perniagaan.
