GROUP CHIEF PEOPLE OFFICER
Nik Juliah Nik Jaafar is a HR professional with more than 30 years of solid experience in people management and development. She started her career in the United States where she last held the position as Regional HR Director for a healthcare organisation. After a stint of 12 years working overseas, she decided to return to her home country, Malaysia, where she assumed several leadership roles in established companies such as American International Assurance (AIA), Malaysian National Insurance (MNI), TYCO Fire & Security, as well as AXA AFFIN Insurance.
She was also the Executive Director, Group Human Resources with UMW where she led the people function of the company by implementing up-to-date HR strategies and frameworks. She laid a good people foundation for the organisation towards attaining several awards, namely HR Excellence Award and HR Asia Awards. In 2014, she received the Malaysian Women of Excellence Awards for outstanding achievement under Top Class Management category.
As the Group Chief People Officer in SIRIM, she has been instrumental in building leadership bench strength through the implementation of rigorous talent framework, as well as building a culture conducive to staff growth and engagement within the organisation.
