Kuala Lumpur, 31 May 2025: SIRIM Berhad, the nation’s premier industrial research and technology organisation, achieved prominent recognition when ten competing projects won medals at the 36th International Invention, Innovation & Technology Exhibition (ITEX 2025), held from 29 to 30 May 2025 at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre.
SIRIM innovative projects earned the organisation a collection of six gold medals and four silver medals. Among these achievements, two of SIRIM’s innovations stood out, taking home the Best Green Invention and Best Invention Award in the Research Institution category. Clinching gold for the innovations is:
Automated Drone Station (ADS) is an intelligent platform designed for managing, charging and deploying drones without human intervention. Drones are deployed instantly for real-time surveillance, perimeter monitoring and threat detection. The intelligent station ensures 24/7 protection with automated response and high-speed data connectivity.
Bioactive Antimicrobial Material Enriched with Citrus Extract for Sustainable Applications (BioCitrusProtect) this innovative antimicrobial material combines Chitosan, Bacterial cellulose, and citrus-derived Naringin to provide a natural and effective solution for inhibiting harmful microorganisms. The product holds promise for various applications including food packaging, food coating, box layer and air filter membrane, offering a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional antimicrobial solutions.
QuantumLFA is an innovative rapid test kit developed for the detection of Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg). It delivers rapid results, with fluorescence-based enhancement for higher sensitivity compared to conventional gold nanoparticle-based kits. This supports clinical monitoring, treatment evaluation and digital health integration, enhancing the QuantumLFA’s value across healthcare settings.
Sustainable Innovation: Biodegradable Microbeads from Pineapple Fibre (PhytoBead) offers a sustainable and scientifically validated solution to replace plastic microbeads in skin care and personal care products. This innovation provides brands with a natural, biodegradable alternative for exfoliation in scrubs, cleansers, and similar applications. Developed through a zero-waste process, PhytoBeads is safe for skin contact, environmentally friendly, and aligns with global circular economy goals.
Digitalisation of Clear Aligners Production Through Direct 3D Printing invention introduces a fully digitalised workflow for clear aligner production using direct 3D printing. The process integrates intraoral scanning, digital treatment planning and direct 3D printing with biocompatible resin. It is particularly applicable in the context of modern dental practices that are shifting towards digitally enabled, patient-centric models, where speed, precision and adaptability are key.
REP4WRD®: Agile Best Practices for Industry is a product or framework designed to help teams and organizations implement Agile methodologies effectively. Its applicability spans various industries, team sizes, and project types, particularly those requiring flexibility, collaboration, and iterative progress. Key applications include software development, non-IT projects, large-scale enterprise adoption, startups & innovation and hybrid environments.
While also securing silver for Green Plastics Sustainable Solutions Through G0-Terra Innovations, Smart Mosquito Repellent Dispenser (X-IOT), Low Pressure Storage System Using Amine-Functionalized Multiwall Carbon Nanotube (MWCNT) as Adsorbent Materials for Natural Gas Storage and AI-Based Automated Data Extraction API for Dynamic Paper-Based Documents (aIDEA).

KUALA LUMPUR, 30 Mei 2025: SIRIM Berhad peneraju dalam penyelidikan dan inovasi teknologi tempatan melakar sebuah lagi kejayaan cemerlang apabila sepuluh projek penyertaannya memenangi pingat di Pameran Reka Cipta, Inovasi dan Teknologi Antarabangsa (ITEX 2025) Daripada sepuluh penyertaan, enam projek SIRIM dianugerahkan pingat emas dan empat lagi meraih pingat perak. Dua inovasi terbaik SIRIM turut menerima anugerah Best Invention dan Best Green Invention dalam kategori Institusi Penyelidikan.
Antara projek yang memenangi pingat emas ialah:
Automated Drone Station (ADS) For Smart Aerial Monitoring and Surveillance adalah platform pintar yang direka untuk mengurus, mengecas dan melancarkan dron tanpa pengawasan manusia. Dron ini boleh digunakan serta-merta untuk pemantauan secara langsung, kawalan perimeter dan pengesanan ancaman. Stesen pintar ini memastikan perlindungan 24/7 dengan tindak balas automatik dan sambungan data berkelajuan tinggi.
Bioactive Antimicrobial Material Enriched with Citrus Extract for Sustainable Applications (BioCitrusProtect) ini menggabungkan kitosan, bakteria selulosa, dan naringin daripada sitrus untuk memberikan penyelesaian semula jadi dan berkesan dalam menghalang mikroorganisma berbahaya. Ia berpotensi digunakan dalam pembungkusan makanan, salutan makanan, lapisan kotak, dan membran penapis udara, sekaligus menawarkan alternatif lestari dan mesra alam berbanding penyelesaian antimikrob konvensional.
QuantumLFA adalah kit ujian pantas yang dibangunkan untuk mengesan antigen permukaan Hepatitis B (HBsAg) yang memberi keputusan pantas berasaskan sifat pendarfluor unggul untuk sensitiviti yang lebih tinggi berbanding kit konvensional berasaskan nanopartikel emas. Kit ini menyokong pemantauan klinikal, penilaian rawatan, dan integrasi kesihatan digital, bagi meningkatkan nilainya dalam pelbagai asas penjagaan kesihatan.

Digitalisation of Clear Aligners Production Through Direct 3D Printing memperkenalkan aliran kerja digital sepenuhnya untuk penghasilan pendakap gigi lutsinar menggunakan pencetakan 3D langsung. Proses ini menggabungkan pengimbasan intraoral, perancangan rawatan digital dan percetakan 3D langsung menggunakan bahan resin yang biokompatibel. Ciptaan ini sesuai untuk amalan pergigian moden yang ingin beralih kepada model pembuatan yang berfokuskan kepada pesakit di mana kelajuan, ketepatan dan kebolehsuaian adalah kunci utama.
REP4WRD®: Agile Best Practices for Industry adalah sebuah kerangka yang direka untuk membantu organisasi dalam melaksanakan metodologi Agile dengan berkesan. Aplikasi utamanya termasuk pembangunan perisian, projek bukan IT, pelaksanaan perusahaan berskala besar, permulaan & inovasi, serta persekitaran hibrid.
