WHAT IS ETV?
Environmental Technology Verification (ETV)
Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) is an independent, third-party verification scheme that evaluates and verifies the environmental performance claims of green and innovative environmental technologies. The verification process provides credible, transparent, and independently validated evidence that a technology performs as claimed. This enables technology providers to build market trust, enhance stakeholder confidence, and support the adoption of green procurement initiatives.
Examples of environmental technology scopes that can be verified but not limited to are:
Energy and resource efficient technologies
Materials, waste & recycling efficiency
Air emissions monitoring and control
Water treatment and monitoring
Standards-Based Verification
Internationally Recognised Verification Framework
The Environmental Technology Verification (ETV) Scheme is implemented using internationally recognised standards to ensure that the verification process is transparent, objective, technically robust, and globally credible.
By adhering to these standards, SIRIM provides stakeholders with confidence that environmental technology performance claims have been independently assessed using a structured and impartial verification process.
ETV assessments are conducted in accordance with internationally recognised standards by adhering to these standards, SIRIM provides stakeholders with confidence that environmental technology performance claims have been independently assessed using a structured and impartial verification process.
MS ISO 14034
Internationally accepted framework for verifying the environmental performance claims of green & innovative environmental technologies.
Through this standard, technology providers can demonstrate that their products, systems, or solutions have undergone a rigorous and independent evaluation process.
MS ISO/IEC 17020
Conformity Assessment – Requirements for the Operation of Various Types of Bodies Performing Inspection. The standard specifies the requirements for inspection bodies that conduct independent assessment and verification activities.
It ensures that every ETV verification is carried out objectively, free from conflicts of interest, and supported by sound technical evidence.
