What is the Communication, Multimedia and Hybrid Product?

As the Certifying Agency appointed by the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commissions Malaysia (MCMC), the Communication and Multimedia Certification Section (CMCS 1 & CMCS 2) offers comprehensive certification services covering communications, multimedia, and hybrid equipment to ensure compliance with the mandatory requirements outlined in the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998 [Act 588], Communication and Multimedia (Technical Standards) Regulations 2000 [P.U.(A) 124/2000]. Our certification services include Type Approval (Compliance Approval), Special Approval, and labelling (Self-Labelling Program (SLP).

SLP is a program in which the certificate holders (manufacturer/importer/supplier) of certified communication, multimedia, and hybrid equipment prepare their certification labels in accordance with the MCMC’s Guideline on Certification Mark for Self-Labelling (SLP). These self-labelling methods include electronic (e-label) and surface labelling.

Our certification services are available via our online certification platform, the Online Certification for Communication and Multimedia Product (e-ComM).

We are also appointed as the Cross Border Regulatory Body (CBRA) by the Royal Malaysia Customs Department (RMCD). We offer services to assist with the application process for the Certificate of Approval (CoA) / import Permit. This service ensures compliance with the Customs Act 1997 (Prohibitions of Import) Orders. Applications for CoA can be conveniently made through the e-Permit system.
