What is the Electronic Cigarette Device (e-cigarette) Testing and Certification?
E-cigarette device
E-cigarette device is a battery-powered device that provides inhaled doses of non-nicotine substance by way of vapourised solution. (Definition by standard MS 2716:2019)
The e-cigarette device consists of two significant components i.e. atomiser and body. It may cause hazards that lead to a serious risk to the user if there is any malfunction to its part.
Safety Requirement
The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (KPDNHEP) has gazetted the safety requirement for e-cigarette device under the Trade Descriptions (Certification and Marking of Electronic Cigarette) Order 2022.

Locally manufactured or imported e-cigarette device shall comply with the Trade Descriptions by 3 August 2022.
All e-cigarette device must be tested and certified according to MS 2716:2019 for safety requirements.
The certified e-cigarette device shall be labelled with SIRIM MS mark before it can be sold and offered to the market.
