What is the Certification Scheme for Premium Product?
Premium product is defined as a product that that demonstrate superior performance on top of meeting all applicable regulatory and safety requirements.
The Certification Scheme for Premium Product (“SCP”) is a voluntary certification scheme introduced to support manufacturers and exporters seeking to position their premium products competitively in regional and international markets and is applicable for both regulated and non-regulated products. Through SCP, products demonstrate their compliance with the
standard SIRIM 88: 2025 Premium Products - Requirements and undergo relevant testing and certification requirements to prove their premium status.
The SCP was officially launched on 20 August 2025 during the SIRIM QAS Updates and Networking Session 2025. To provide applicants with clear guidance on the SCP, applicants may refer to the Guidelines Certification Scheme for Premium Product (“the Guidelines”) (download here). The Guidelines contain comprehensive information on items such as application process, premium criteria, testing and certification requirements, audit processes, fee and premium labels.
