The IQNet SR10 certification scheme enables a company to demonstrate their adherence to such measures by taping into a number of management, commercial and socio-environmental advantages. These include a reputation boost as the organisation is seen to be socially responsible, improved risk management practices, stronger employees’ loyalty and morale, and better employee retention.
The certification scheme at the same time allow organisation to demonstrate commitment towards sustainability increases sources of funding, helps cement the positive image of the organisation, and costs reduction through efficient management of resources.
The launch of IQNet SR10 certification scheme was graced by President and Group Chief Executive of SIRIM Berhad, Dato’ Indera Dr Ahmad Sabirin Arshad. Also present Deputy Chief Officer of Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), Abu Bakar Yusuf and Chief Executive Officer of SIRIM QAS International, Nur Fadhilah Muhammad.
Dato’ Indera Ahmad Sabirin said the IQNet SR10 certification enables organisations to play a role in meeting Malaysia’s commitment to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) under the United Nations’ 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
"The IQNET SR10 provides independent assurance and confidence that an organisation’s social responsibility management system has been effectively implemented. This scheme creates a higher level of trust and credibility to organisation initiatives, the certification will show that the organisation adopts a systematic and transparent management system.
"This scheme signifies that organisation care for their employees’ welfare, care for the environment, care for community, and care for good governance," he added.
Meanwhile, SIRIM QAS International is the first certification body in Southeast Asia to offer IQNet SR10 certification, which further showcases the organisation’s capabilities in providing ESG related certification. These include ISO 14067 Product Carbon Footprint, ISO 14001 Environmental Management System, ISO 37001 Anti-bribery Management Systems, and Social Accountability Scheme SIRIM 50, to name a few.
The organisation is also accredited by the Department of Standards Malaysia and the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS), as well as other industry bodies such as the International Electrotechnical Commission and the International Safe Transit Association (ISTA).
